The mechanism from the molecular level and selectivity for removal of metal ions aqueous has become a hotspot in current water treatment. In this study, sulphydryl-modified hollow polymer adsorbent was designed with intrinsic amine grafted sulphydryl groups efficient uptake Cr(VI), As(III), Cd(II), Pb(II) by taking advantage their properties, like abundant functional groups, discrete chambers, high porosity. formation approximately 65.7% Cr(III) indicates redox reaction Cr(VI) to Cr(III). electron-donating comes benzenoid oxidized quinoid imine or protonated nitrogen units (-N=+) reduced increase more than double new group -N=+. Interestingly, amine/quinoid have stronger affinity Cd(II) As(III) Pb(II).
