Abstract MXenes are a new type of 2D transition metal carbon/nitride or carbonitride, which composed M n +1 AX phase material (MAX phase) through single‐layer thin‐layer nanosheets obtained by exfoliation. Owning to unique two‐dimensional layered structure, large specific surface area, excellent electrical conductivity and mechanical stability, the have quickly become research hotspot due their magnetic other properties, been widely used in many fields such as electrochemical sensors, energy storage, catalysis, adsorption. This article summarizes introduces preparation methods materials MXenes, focus on reviewing application progress sensors environmental field recent years, including detection biomarkers pollutants, adsorption heavy metals, radiation organic matter, selective carbon dioxide, membrane separation, electrocatalysis, photocatalysis, electromagnetic absorption shielding, etc. A summary review were conducted, finally existing problems future development at this stage analyzed.
