Carotenoids are extensively used in drugs, cosmetics, nutrients, and foods, owing to their antioxidant anti-inflammatory characteristics. Diverse marine heterotrophic prokaryotes can accumulate carotenoids become promising alternatives for the advancement of production. In this research, 55 strains were isolated cultivated from tidal flat sediment Zhoushan classified into phyla Pseudomonadota (n = 24), Bacillota 18), Bacteroidota 9), Actinomycetota 4). Nine them accumulated carotenoids, most belonged families Flavobacteriaceae 4) Erythrobacteraceae Among those carotenoid-producing strains, one strain, designated as D39T, was proposed novel species belonging genus Croceibacterium through polyphasic taxonomy approaches. Genomic annotations carotenoid compound determinations revealed that strain D39T encoded crtEBIYZG genes mainly zeaxanthin major carotenoids. Furthermore, biosynthesis pathway majority identical with implying members be sources producing zeaxanthin. This study enhances knowledge microbial biodiversity flats, proposes a species, elucidates Croceibacterium, which contribute enriching promoting comprehensive insight genomic contents them.

Abstract Human activities and urbanization may have accelerated the enrichment dissemination of microplastics in lakes. In this study, three typical functional lakes (HRR: lake with a hospital restaurant region; PER: play entertainment SMY: primitive arboretum) were selected to compare occurrence characteristics seasonal changes microplastics, which sampled on January 23, April July October 2021. The results showed that abundance HRR was (5.73±0.81)-(13.57±7.95) items/L, PER (8.2±1.06)- (19.73±3.73) SMY (2.93±1.3)-(11.4±1.8) items/L. Additionally, mainly fibers, some fragments films, small amount pellets; color blue, particle size 0-1mm. average exhibits significant specificity lakes, reached its peak value July, January, April. Meanwhile, richness significantly higher than those SMY. This indicated is highly correlated human activities.
