Carotenoids

extensively
used
in
drugs,
cosmetics,
nutrients,
and
foods,
owing
to
their
antioxidant
anti-inflammatory
characteristics.
Diverse
marine
heterotrophic
prokaryotes
can
accumulate
carotenoids
become
promising
alternatives
for
the
advancement
of
production.
In
this
research,
55
strains
were
isolated
cultivated
from
tidal
flat
sediment
Zhoushan
classified
into
phyla
Pseudomonadota
(n
=
24),
Bacillota
18),
Bacteroidota
9),
Actinomycetota
4).
Nine
them
accumulated
carotenoids,
most
belonged
families
Flavobacteriaceae
4)
Erythrobacteraceae
Among
those
carotenoid-producing
strains,
one
strain,
designated
as
D39T,
was
proposed
novel
species
belonging
genus
Croceibacterium
through
polyphasic
taxonomy
approaches.
Genomic
annotations
carotenoid
compound
determinations
revealed
that
strain
D39T
encoded
crtEBIYZG
genes
mainly
zeaxanthin
major
carotenoids.
Furthermore,
biosynthesis
pathway
majority
identical
with
implying
members
be
sources
producing
zeaxanthin.
This
study
enhances
knowledge
microbial
biodiversity
flats,
proposes
a
species,
elucidates
Croceibacterium,
which
contribute
enriching
promoting
comprehensive
insight
genomic
contents
them.

Human
activities

urbanization

accelerated

enrichment
dissemination

microplastics
in
lakes.

this
study,
three
typical
functional
lakes
(HRR:
lake
with
a
hospital
restaurant
region;
