This study investigated the adsorption performance of hydrothermal carbon derived from banana peel and modified with different concentrations phosphoric acid solution, then used to adsorb lead ions in an aqueous solution. The surface structure functional groups were analyzed using XRD, SEM, FT-IR, elemental analysis, BET. results showed that capacity reached 40.64 mg/g at a temperature 240 °C, solution 2 mol/L, solid–liquid ratio g/L, removal efficiency 82.74%. process conformed pseudo-second-order kinetic model Langmuir isotherm equation. correlation coefficient 0.99 for fitting artificial neural network, indicating network could be predict adsorption. Pb(II) by acid-modified was dominated monolayer chemical adsorption, mechanisms included electrostatic attraction, ion exchange, complexation, physical
