The release of heavy metal ions, especially hexavalent chromium [Cr(VI)], from industrial processes poses significant health and environmental risks. Cr(VI) does not readily degrade but can be reduced to the less toxic trivalent form [Cr(III)] that exhibits lower adsorption, making it easier manage remove systems. This paper proposes a single-step solvothermal method synthesize fluorescent multiatom-doped (N, K, Cl, Mg, Ca) carbon dots (MACDs) Kalanchoe pinnata leaves (carbon precursor) ethanol (solvent). These MACDs serve as effective photocatalysts for reduction under one sun illumination (AM 1.5 G conditions). reaction achieved 91% removal 20 ppm deionized water solution in 420 min complete (100%) an acidic with same initial concentration 120 min. demonstrated excellent photocatalytic performance across tap, river, lake water. biomass-derived demonstrate strong potential Cr-contaminated remediation.

Most clinical isolates of both Staphylococcus aureus and epidermidis show the capacity to adhere abiotic surfaces develop biofilms resulting in a contribution chronic human skin infections. Antibiotic resistance poor biofilm penetration are main causes ineffective therapeutic treatment killing bacteria within biofilms. A possible strategy could be represented by drug delivery systems, such as nanoemulsions (composed bioactive oil, surfactant water phase), which useful for enhancing permeation loaded inside its activity. Phytochemical characterization Pistacia lentiscus oil (LO) direct infusion Fourier-transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (FT-ICR MS) allowed identification compounds with antimicrobial properties, including fatty acids phenolic compounds. Several monoterpenes sesquiterpenes have been also detected confirmed gas chromatography–mass spectrometric (GC-MS) analysis, together providing complete metabolomic profiling LO. In present study, nanoemulsion composed LO has employed improving Levofloxacin solubility. deep physical–chemical hydrodynamic diameter, ζ-potential, morphology, entrapment efficiency, stability release studies was performed. Additionally, antimicrobial/antibiofilm activity these preparations evaluated against reference spp. strains. comparison free-form antibiotic, NE nanocarriers exhibited enhanced sessile forms

Carbon dots (CDs) derived from biological entities significantly play a major part in environmental and biomedical applications, comprising electrocatalytic oxidations, antibiotics detection, biosensing, bioimaging. In the present work, facile green synthesis of blue-emitting CDs has been done using one-step hydrothermal treatment pulp extract Ziziphus mauritiana, acting as natural source carbon for optical determination ciprofloxacin (CIP) antibiotics. The process is easy, safe environment, doesn't require any specialized equipment or chemicals. structural characteristics synthesized are XRD, FTIR, UV–visible spectroscopies, SEM-EDX, PL, TEM. were found to have quasi-spherical shape with an average size 2.54 nm. Nitrogen (1.2wt.%), oxygen (41.8wt.%), (40.7wt.%) main component CDs, observed by EDX. These showed blue emission under UV light, excitation-dependent emission, wide excitation-emission spectra. prepared used selectively detect CIP exhibit high quantum yield 30% at excitation wavelength 340 After optimal parameters, sensor gave linear detection range 10-100 µM along limit 0.56 µM. Moreover, practical applicability developed was confirmed real milk samples test consistency accuracy sensor. conclusion, proposed method green, rapid, highly sensitive, selective samples, demonstrating potential application food detection.
