Ascorbic acid (AsA) is an important antioxidant for human health. The concept of “oil-vegetable-duel-purpose” can significantly enhance the economic benefits rapeseed industry. Rapeseed, when utilized as a vegetable, serves valuable food source AsA. In this study, we integrated transcriptome and metabolome analyses, along with substrate feeding, to identify L-galactose pathway primary AsA production, which primarily regulated by light. Through seven different photoperiod treatments from 12 h/12 h (light/dark) 24 h/0 h, found that content increased longer photoperiods, well chlorophyll, carotenoids, soluble sugars. However, excessively long led photooxidative stress, negatively affected biomass accumulation in seedlings subsequently impacted total Furthermore, enzymes respond differently photoperiods. Analysis correlation between expression levels biosynthesis-related genes highlighted dynamic balancing mechanism metabolism response study revealed 16 h/8 optimal long-term seedlings. extending before harvest without compromising yield. These findings offer novel insights into effective strategy biofortification rapeseed.

Since Albert Szent-Györgyi discovered it and became used in treating scurvy, vitamin C has attracted interest many studies due to its unique properties. It is an important cofactor the synthesis of collagen hormones, involved immunity, iron absorption, processes requiring antioxidants. Thus, this review aims emphasize importance usefulness improving quality life preventing various diseases (e.g., chronic diseases, cardiovascular cancer) but also for use treatments against infections, neurodegenerative cancer. Although presented provide essential information about properties VIC beneficial effect on health, some contradict these theories. In respect, further larger samples over a longer period are needed demonstrate therapeutic potential nutrient. However, remains necessary that should be consumed daily maintain optimal health prevent deficiencies can lead scurvy associated complications.

Aging is a complex, progressive, and irreversible biological process that entails numerous structural functional changes in the organism. These affect all bodily systems, reducing their ability to respond adapt environment. Chronic inflammation one of key factors driving development age-related diseases, ultimately causing substantial decline abilities older individuals. This persistent inflammatory state (commonly known as “inflammaging”) characterized by elevated levels pro-inflammatory cytokines, an increase oxidative stress, perturbation immune homeostasis. Several factors, including cellular senescence, contribute this milieu, thereby amplifying conditions such cardiovascular disease, neurodegeneration, metabolic disorders. Exploring mechanisms chronic aging essential for developing targeted interventions aimed at promoting healthy aging. review explains strong connection between inflammation, highlighting potential therapeutic approaches like pharmacological treatments, dietary strategies, lifestyle changes.

Background: COPD is a heterogenous disease of the respiratory tract caused by diverse genetic factors along with environmental and lifestyle-related effects such as industrial dust inhalation and, most frequently, cigarette smoking. These lead to airflow obstruction chronic symptoms. Additionally, increased risk infections exacerbates airway inflammation in patients. As consequence complex pathomechanisms difficulty treatment, among leading causes mortality both western countries developing world. Results: The management still challenge for clinicians; however, alternative interventions smoking cessation lifestyle changes from sedentary life moderate physical activity special attention diet may ameliorate patients' health. Here, we reviewed different dietary components supplements on conditions COPD. Conclusions: patients are continuously exposed heavy metals, which commonly present smoke polluted air. Meanwhile, they often experience significant nutrient deficiencies, affect detoxification these toxic metals. This turn can further disrupt nutritional balance interfering absorption, metabolism, utilization essential micronutrients. Therefore, awareness deliberate efforts should be made check levels micronutrients, ensuring adequate antioxidants, vitamin D, K2, magnesium, iron, particularly important reducing development limiting severity.
