Identifying the underlying mechanisms through which adverse childhood experiences affect (ACEs) mental health of adolescents is paramount importance for disease prevention in later stages life. The present study examines relationship between ACEs and psychopathology from northern Chile how attachment style (abandonment anxiety intimacy avoidance) may moderate this relationship. A total 154 schooled aged 12 to 17 (M = 15.08, SD 1.64) completed a series self-report questionnaires including Adverse Childhood Experience Questionnaire (ACEs), Experiences Close Relationships- Relationship Structures (ECR-RS), Youth Self Report (YSR-18).The data analysis was carried out using SPSS version 25, included descriptive analysis, one-way ANOVA, Spearman correlation analysis. To address moderation PROCESS macro extension 4.1 employed. In process, bootstrap method applied construct confidence intervals, pick-a-point approach used define levels moderating variable. According results, 80.3% sample experienced one or more ACEs, 16.4% reported experiencing at least three. Furthermore, variables under exhibited significant correlations with each other, except avoidance, showed no (rho -0.10; p 0.273). When considering abandonment as variable, direct effect on externalizing symptoms statistically changes (β 0.60, 0.03). No other effects were found according proposed models. In childhood, accumulation associated development Chile, specifically presence internalizing symptoms. These findings suggest that lower could mitigate adolescent psychopathology, while higher exacerbate these psychopathology.

Abstract Child maltreatment is a global concern that profoundly affects individuals throughout their lives. This study investigated the relationships between various forms of child and behavior problems involving internalization externalization during adolescence. Data obtained from diverse sample 1802 Canadians aged 14–18 years was used to examine mediating role alexithymia—a difficulty in recognizing expressing emotions—in these associations. Results indicated adolescents who experienced sexual abuse, emotional exposure intimate partner violence (IPV) childhood exhibited higher levels alexithymia, which correlated with elevated both internalizing externalizing problems. Physical abuse parental neglect were only associated Gender differences also emerged, gender-diverse reporting prevalence maltreatment, compared peers. However, alexithymia’s consistent across genders. Overall, this highlights intricate adolescent The findings how different significantly shape behavioral outcomes indicate importance interventions enhancing awareness expression history maltreatment.

Background Roma living in marginalized communities often face poor conditions and material deprivation, which may negatively impact parenting. Our aim is to compare the parenting behavior (support, harsh discipline, stimulation) of mothers from majority population Slovakia. We also examine role socioeconomic disadvantage related worries differences between these groups. Methods obtained cross-sectional data children aged 14–18 months using first wave longitudinal RomaREACH study dataset. Two groups were included sample: 93 MRCs 102 majority. performed multiple regression mediation analyses assess whether educational level mothers, degree poverty, poverty-related feelings stress explain mothers. Results found significant parenting, especially disciplining stimulation. These two domains significantly associated with maternal education, worries. The poverty partially mediated stimulation Conclusion Parenting seems harsher less stimulative than Slovak are explains why stimulative. results inform intervention efforts aimed at disadvantaged families.

Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are a possible pathway through which poor family finances influences adolescents' behavioral and mental health problems. However, the interrelationship between finances, ACEs, outcomes in adolescence has received little attention. We aimed to (1) document exposure family-based ACEs by perceived (PFF), (2) examine how PFF relates cumulative pattern-based approaches (3) assess direct interactive associations relation with Data stem from 2017-2019 nationwide Ungdata surveys of adolescents aged 13-15 (n = 12,560). Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are thought to have negative effects on mental health and well-being in adolescence. The definition of ACEs varies between studies, their measurement is mainly based questionnaires designed for adults recall childhood. This scoping review aimed explore the research methods findings from studies that quantitatively analysed association health, behaviour, educational performance adolescence (ages 12–17). We sought map hypothesise links or mechanisms these psychosocial outcomes by narrative synthesis methodologies included appraised with Cambridge Quality Checklist. searched MEDLINE, EMBASE, PsychINFO 1998 July 2023 relevant studies. identified twenty measured twenty-seven “ACEs” during 0–17), including abuse, neglect, household dysfunction, bullying, other adversities. tools analysis techniques were heterogeneous. commonly as exposure interest factors around child family confounders. Statistical regression modelling, mediation analysis, structural equation decision tree classification. Eighteen estimated cumulative ACEs, either count/score latent classes; four individual ACE effects. Cumulative most positively associated increased probabilities adolescent outcomes. Measuring impacts adolescents appeared feasible longitudinal surveys. Heterogeneous classification, psychometric properties tools, score approach limit comparability interpretation findings. Future into prevention development should address leading mitigating development, use triangulation ACEs.
