Abstract The aim of this study was to examine the associations between adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and high levels social service usage by women who are sex trafficked. Fifty (N = 50) were trafficked surveyed using purposive snowball sampling methods. ACEs score for respondents ranged from 2 10 with an average 7.4 (SD 2.3). Emotional sexual abuse tied at 88 percent as most frequently cited among in sample. prevalence significantly higher sample compared known estimates similar populations, ranging 20 54 (p < .001). Background: Adolescents in residential care who have been exposed to early interpersonal adversities may exhibit a range of mental health difficulties that are not well captured by traditional assessment measures. The Assessment Checklist for – Short Form (ACA-SF) was developed assessing maltreatment-related symptoms observed young people out-of-home care. Purpose: aim this study analyse the psychometric properties ACA-SF sample adolescents Study sample: composed 160 (49.4% boys, 48.8% girls, and 1.9% non-binary gender), aged 11–18, from 24 facilities Spain. ABSTRACT Despite substantial evidence indicating an association between adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and psychological distress, the mechanisms underlying this remain unclear. This naturally occurring, cross‐sectional study examines mediating role of difficulties in emotion regulation moderating effects exposure to acute stress due regional armed conflict mentalising skills on mediation.
