Research on residential care has been well established in the literature. Nonetheless, research drawing from actual experiences of adolescents is relatively scarce. A qualitative study was designed highlighting voices children, analysing their fostering experience, interpersonal relationships, participation daily decisions, and future aspirations. This literature review evaluates extant research on children’s experiences of collaborative relationship with Norwegian child welfare and protection professionals. Sixteen qualitative publications from January 2011 to February 2023 were analysed using thematic analysis. The identified gaps in understanding perspectives, particularly those aged 0–12, participation collaboration NCWP. underscores the need use direct indirect approaches, such as interviews observational studies, better comprehend support all children involved findings highlight significance trust-building NCWP professionals, enabling providing emotional support. Children stress importance being informed included proceedings through dialogical communication. However, their voices are often unheard, leading exclusion decision-making. Additionally, contact CWP negatively affects self-perception causes self-blame. article suggests that a characterized by trust-building, communication, connection can address these issues.
