Abstract Skeletal muscle diseases like myopathies and muscular dystrophies present significant clinical challenges with few effective treatments. To better understand disease mechanisms accelerate therapy development, robust in vitro models are needed. Extrusion- light-based bioprinting offer precise fabrication of tissue-like constructs, but creating bioinks that support cell function remains difficult. Here, we report a novel bioink which taurine is first methacrylated—substituting its –NH 2 groups to afford methacrylate (TMA)—enabling covalent integration into gelatin methacryloyl (GelMA) networks. We systematically compared GelMA-Taur (physical blend) versus GelMA-TMA (covalent) hydrogels, assessing mechanical stiffness, swelling behavior, photocrosslinking kinetics. Incorporating TMA yielded tighter crosslinking control, minimized overcure DLP-printed features, improved shape fidelity. SEM revealed finer pore structures homogeneous distribution, release assays confirmed prolonged retention rapidly leaching taurine. Photopatterning 3D printing complex geometries demonstrated excellent printability the bioink. Finally, C2C12 myoblasts encapsulated scaffolds exhibited accelerated early differentiation, higher myosin heavy chain expression, more extensive myotube formation than controls. Together, these results establish as printable, mechanically tunable, biologically active platform for engineering skeletal tissue modeling regenerative applications.

Abstract Hydrogel dressings, known for their breathability and hygroscopic properties, have garnered significant attention in the field of bioactive wound care. Among them, hydrogels composed polysaccharides peptides offer superior biocompatibility, intrinsic antibacterial ability to mimic extracellular matrix. In this study, we developed hybrid hydrogels, BAA/C 8 G 2 , BAA/G 3 BAA/c(KW), by crosslinking immunomodulatory β‐glucan derivatives with antimicrobial via enamine bonds. These exhibited enhanced mechanical strength compared those crosslinked oxidized through imine bonding, alongside pH responsiveness controlled drug release behavior.
