Purpose
Recent
emerging
information
technologies
like
digital
twin
(DT)
provide
new
concepts
and
transform
management
processes
in
the
architecture,
engineering
construction
(AEC)
industry.
Although
numerous
articles
are
pertinent
to
DT
applications,
existing
research
areas
potential
future
directions
related
state-of-the-art
project
operation
maintenance
(O&M)
yet
be
studied.
Therefore,
this
paper
aims
review
on
applications
O&M.
Design/methodology/approach
The
current
adopted
four
methodological
steps,
including
literature
search,
selection,
science
mapping
analysis
qualitative
discussion
gain
a
deeper
understanding
of
impact
contribution
keywords
documents
were
examined
from
total
444
journal
retrieved
Scopus
database.
Findings
Five
mainstream
topics
identified,
(1)
DT-based
artificial
intelligence
technology
for
O&M,
(2)
DT-enabled
smart
city
sustainability,
(3)
asset
management,
(4)
Blockchain-integrated
O&M
(5)
advanced
management.
Subsequently,
gaps
proposed.

This
study

awareness
by
summarizing
development
phases
their
implementation
among
researchers
practitioners.
