Abstract Mimicking the bioactivity of native enzymes through synthetic chemistry is an efficient means to advance biocatalysts in a cell‐free environment, however, remains long‐standing challenges. Herein, we utilize structurally explicit hydrogen‐bonded organic frameworks (HOFs) mimic photo‐responsive oxidase, and uncover important role pore environments on mediating oxidase‐like activity by constructing isostructural HOFs. We discover that HOF with suitable geometry can stabilize spatially organize catalytic substrate into favorable route, as function enzyme pocket. Based desirable activity, visual sensitive HOFs biosensor established for detection phosphatase, biomarker skeletal hepatobiliary diseases. This work demonstrates significantly influence nanozymes’ addition active center.

Flavors and fragrances (F&F) are interesting organic compounds in chemistry. These widely used the food, cosmetic, medical industries. Enzymatic synthesis exhibits several advantages over natural extraction chemical preparation, including a high yield, stable quality, mildness, environmental friendliness. To date, many oxidoreductases hydrolases have been to biosynthesize F&F. Ene-reductases (ERs) class of biocatalysts that can catalyze asymmetric reduction α,β-unsaturated offer superior specificity selectivity; therefore, ERs increasingly considered an ideal alternative their counterparts. This review summarizes research progress on use F&F past 20 years, achievements various scholars, differences similarities among findings, discussions future trends related ERs. Flavins are highly versatile redox-active and colored cofactors in a large variety of proteins. These do include photoenzymes photoreceptors, although the vast majority performs non-light-driven physiological functions. Nevertheless, electron transfer between flavins specific nearby amino acid residues (in particular tyrosine, tryptophan, presumably histidine arginine) takes place upon excitation flavin many flavoproteins. For oxidized flavoproteins these reactions potentially have photoprotective role. In this Perspective, we outline work on characterization early reaction intermediates not only relatively well-studied resting forms but also fully reduced intrinsically unstable semireduced forms, where ultrafast photooxidation was recently demonstrated. Along different lines, flavoprotein-based novel photocatalysts for biotechnological applications presently emerging, employing both substrate photoreduction strategies.
