Diabetes mellitus (DM) is common among older adults hospitalized with lower respiratory tract infection, yet information on the impact of DM disease severity limited. This study retrospectively analyzed 46 Turkish patients infected syncytial virus (RSV), their comorbidities, co-infection status, and symptoms. Patients are grouped into four levels from mild to severe, according lung parenchymal infiltration status oxygen level. Similar previously published studies, we found that comorbidities diabetes, heart failure, hypertension, any type, bacterial co-infection, age associated severity. Cough most symptom (89%) followed by fever (26%) myalgia, dyspnea, weakness (around 20%). Using a second-order analysis (two-variable regression), identified two independent risks for severity, first represented second co-infection. We observed whose more severe symptoms were not an age, but combination diabetes To confirm true causality statistical correlation, further studies needed.

Abstract COVID-19 survival data presents a special situation where not only the time-to-event period is short, but also two events or outcome types, death and release from hospital, are mutually exclusive, leading to cause-specific hazard ratios (csHR d csHR r ). The eventual mortality/release analyzed by logistic regression obtain odds-ratio (OR). We have following three empirical observations: (1) magnitude of OR an upper limit : |log(OR)| ≥ |log(csHR )|. This relationship between HR might be understood definition quantities; (2) point in opposite directions: log(csHR ) ⋅ < 0; relation direct consequence nature events; (3) there tendency for reciprocal ∼ 1/csHR . Though approximate trend indication that same factor causing faster lead slow recovery similar mechanism, vice versa, quantitative this context obvious. These results may help future analyses other diseases, particular if deceased patients lacking, whereas surviving abundant.

Introdução: A crise sanitária e a subsequente econômica provocada pela pandemia do SARS-CoV-2 comprometeram os recursos das unidades de saúde globalmente.
