MXenes are a group of novel two-dimensional (2D) materials with merits such as large specific surface area, abundant surface-functional groups, high chemical activity, excellent mechanical properties, hydrophilicity, and good compatibility various polymers. In recent years, many high-performance organic anticorrosion coatings using nanofillers have been reported attracted widespread attention. As the first successfully prepared MXene material, Ti3C2Tx is most extensively studied typical member family. Therefore, it taken representative its family, status MXene/epoxy resin (EP) MXene/waterborne polyurethane (WPU) polymer anticorrosive composite reviewed. Firstly, structure, characteristics, main synthesis methods briefly introduced. Then, latest progress four surface-modification strategies to improve dispersion, compatibility, stability, anti-aggregation properties MXenes, namely functionalization grafting, orientation regulation, heterostructure nanocomposite design, stabilization greening treatment, analyzed summarized. Coatings with only passive protection cannot offer long-term anticorrosion on metals. Eco-friendly sustainable and responsive coating for active/passive corrosion is desirable to extend the service life of Here, benzotriazole (BTA)-metal organic frameworks (Cu-MOFs, UiO-66) were embedded in silica (SiO2) by one-step electrodeposition copper.
