Community health workers and Covid-19: Cross-country evidence on their roles, experiences, challenges and adaptive strategies

Community
health
workers
(CHWs)
are

Background
The
COVID-19
pandemic

Abstract
This
study
focuses
on
work-life
interrelationships
for
community
health
workers
(CHWs)
during
the
COVID-19
pandemic.
CHWs
serve
as
liaisons
between
marginalized
communities
and
human
service
organizations
to
facilitate
access
services.
Required
physical
distancing
transformed
their
work
from
embodied,
face-to-face
interaction
almost
wholly
mediated
by
communication
technologies.
Interviews
were
conducted
with
52
participants
identify
CHWs’
adaptive
strategies

consequences
of
adaptations

interrelationships,
communicative

gambaran
mental,
melakukan
pendidikan
berupa
edukasi
pelatihan
penanganan
seperti
teknik
napas
dalam,
relaksasi
otot
progresif,
hipnotis
lima
jari.
Kegiatan
dilakukan
Kota
Pekanbaru.
Khalayak
sasaran
kader
berjumlah
20
orang.
Rata-rata
pengetahuan
sebelum
diberikan
diperoleh
63
poin,
sedangkan
setelah
menjadi
90.5
poin.
Peningkatan
cukup
signifikan
sebesar
27,5
%
mampu
berbagai
strategi
stres.
Setelah
pelatihan,
diharapkan
dapat
menerapkan
jiwa
kepada
sekitar
terdampak
pandemi
