Due to global temperature increases, terraced house (TH) residents face a threat their health due poor indoor thermal environments. As buildings are constructed by low-income without professional guidance, this study aims investigate the comfort and energy resilience of THs under future climate determine optimal passive design strategies for construction retrofitting. By exploring effects building envelope structures, adjusting window-to-wall ratio (WWR) designing shading devices, EnergyPlus version 22.0 was used optimize environment cooling load throughout life cycle uncertainties. Unimproved will experience overheating nearly 90% hours in year exceed 60,000 kWh 2100 Representative Concentration Pathways (RCP) 8.5 scenario. The focus on building energy efficiency using alternative materials in structures, especially concrete, and the main technical environmental challenges therein, aligns with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). This study proposes a review that analyzes structures made recycled relating to of buildings. A classification structure was proposed, addressing following questions: (i) What are various dimensions which research into energy-efficient concrete is concentrated? (ii) themes classes associated these dimensions? (iii) shortcomings current approaches, what would be good agenda for future development concrete? bibliometric analysis carried out, presenting geographical cluster maps understand different trends refine research. followed by bibliographic analysis, reviewing most relevant studies from last five years (2019–2024). results showed some residual (around 45 types industries) used production concrete. And, as negative effect, substitution rates increase, porosity property greatest impact efficiency. greater number pores their interconnection, lower material’s thermal insulation.
