The current study tested a trauma screening, brief intervention, and referral to treatment (T-SBIRT) interview protocol as implemented within Temporary Assistance Needy Families programming. Using non-experimental process evaluation quasi-experimental outcome (N = 88), the assessed four research questions. First, do T-SBIRT providers reach model adherence rates above 90%? Second, over 90% of completers experience intervention tolerable? Third, is completion associated with decreases in mental health symptoms? Fourth, linked reductions positive screenings? Process data emerged from provider-completed integrity checklists. Participant-completed baseline follow-up surveys furnished data, i.e., indicators validated scales depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Descriptive statistics answered questions one two; multivariate analyses addressed three four. Most if not all previous evidence focused primarily on psychological disorders of prisoners/ex-prisoners, whereas the secondary trauma symptoms across whole family await clarification. The present systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to investigate associations between exposure incarceration psychiatric moderators associations. This systemic followed PRISMA guidelines (CRD42023495095). Studies mental health from inception March 4th, 2024 were searched in PsycINFO, PubMed, Medline. Methodological quality was assessed. Meta-analysis correlation coefficients r with random-effects model performed using “metafor” package R. Fifty-three studies (34 non-duplicate samples, 2005–2024) 101,417 people experiencing eight countries included final synthesis. Participants aged 2 99 years. (96.23%) conducted high-income (i.e., Australia, Finland, Ireland, Sweden, US, UK), 3.77% Mexico Poland. Over half longitudinal follow-up periods 53 Exposure positively associated symptoms. Qualitative data from interviews examined through thematic analysis identify key themes patterns reflecting complex realities those environment.Results: identified four themes: 1) Transition experience during legal proceedings, 2) Risk factors for problems, 3) Protective development, 4) need handle problems.Conclusion: Incarceration creates significant psychological stress adolescents, contributing anxiety issues. Factors such as violence arrest, stigma, isolation worsen these problems. family support, education, positive activities can help.
