This study focuses on investigating a PCM based TES unit, which plays crucial role in temporarily storing thermal energy to mitigate the mismatch between supply and demand. Visual inspection confirmed addition of rGO, with significant increase conductivity (∼62%) PW. The examined effects rGO concentration (0.25-1.00 vol%) HTF flow rate TC TDC TES. Higher reduced both time due enhanced heat transfer. Increasing from 0.375 1.5 L/min decreased overall charging time, improved efficiency (∼24). results show direct correlation TC, TDC, efficiency, process parameters (rGO rate), experimental predicted values demonstrating satisfactory agreement (±12%, ±12%, ±2%, respectively). provides practical application valuable predictive tool for estimating known rates concentrations wax-based PCMs, suggesting as an effective additive.

Abstract Examining the thermal behavior of specific working fluids, namely Syltherm800 and TherminolVP-1, in parabolic trough collectors (PTCs) is imperative for enhancing power generation. This study addresses a crucial gap by conducting computational fluid dynamics simulations through COMSOL Multiphysics software experimental tests to explore advantages utilizing oils over water as PTCs. Experimental were performed on water-based PTC Iraq validate numerical model, considering various operating conditions such input temperature (323.15–423.15 K) mass flow rates (0.00926–0.0556 kg/s). Key parameters including output temperature, efficiency, useful heat, total heat losses evaluated. The model was validated against data, showing good agreement with an overall discrepancy 1.7% current experiments 3.18% literature results. results indicated that Syltherm800, particularly high rate, outperformed TherminolVP-1 terms performance. optimal efficiency achieved July rate 0.0556 kg/s 348.15 K. range four months between 50% 70%. endorsement PTCs supported their low vapor pressure, superior stability, extended lifespan.

This work investigates the potential of a sorption-based thermal energy storage (TES) system for enhancing integration renewable and waste heat recovery in key sectors—industry, transport, buildings. Sorption-based TES systems, which utilize reversible sorbent–sorbate reactions to store release energy, offer long-term capabilities with minimal losses. In particular, aim study is evaluate efficiency an adsorption various working pairs under different operating conditions, by means thermodynamic model (supported experimental data). Key findings demonstrate that water-based solutions (e.g., zeolite silica gel composites) perform well residential transport applications, while methanol-based solutions, such as LiCl-silica/methanol, maintain higher industrial contexts. Short-term shows efficiencies compared choice significantly influences performance. Industrial applications face unique challenges due extreme limiting viable pairs. research highlights capability systems reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve efficiency, facilitate transition sustainable practices. The contribute developing cost-effective reliable applications.

ABSTRACT Mixed heat transfer, commonly encountered in engineering applications, has led to a strong focus on maximizing transmission rates. This study explores transfer enhancement within magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) double lid‐driven octagonal cavity. The cavity is filled with porous media and loaded nano‐encapsulated phase change material (NE‐PCM), subjected uniform magnetic field. Galerkin finite element method (GFEM) employed solve the governing equations. Key factors investigated include lid speed (Reynolds number, Re = 1–500), wall movement directions, field intensity (Hartmann Ha 0–100), porosity (Darcy Da 10 −5 –10 −2 ) their effects numerical was validated by comparing results well‐documented data from literature. findings reveal that higher values significantly enhance rates, while reduce Specifically, at highest Re, increasing enhanced averaged Nusselt number ( Nu 165%, 0 100 decreased it 16%. Additionally, moving both walls same direction improved average 350% compared opposing movement. also found NE‐PCM concentration had minimal impact efficiency, reducing chamber permeability hindered suspension movement, thereby between hot cold surfaces.
