Hydrophilic metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are promising for solar steam generation from waste or seawater. In this study, we propose a MOF-based Janus membrane efficient generation. We selected MOF-303 its hydrophilic properties and 1D channels with 6.5 Å cavity diameter, making it an excellent water-absorbing layer. Characterization via Raman spectroscopy differential scanning calorimetry indicates that the nanoconfinement within can reduce water evaporation enthalpy, thereby boosting production efficiency. When deposited on various substrates, aimed to optimize enhanced performance by incorporating carbon black (CB), polydopamine (PDA), perfluoro-functionalized poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT-F), materials known their solar-to-thermal energy conversion capabilities. PEDOT-F, in particular, also served as hydrophobic layer, preventing salt recrystallization during seawater operation. Under one sun irradiation, flux deionized increased 0.31 0.79 kg h

Solar-driven water management such as purification via evaporation and condensation has gained increasing attention a promising solution to address the current issues of energy scarcity. Herein, nanocomposite hydrogel incorporating Ag nanoparticle (NP)-loaded boron nanosheets within polyacrylamide matrix was fabricated, which exhibited excellent solar light absorption efficiency photothermal conversion capability. Under simulated 1-sun irradiation, membrane demonstrated an rate 4.572 kg m–2 h–1 when used with seawater (∼3.5 wt % NaCl), cation concentration in desalinated reduced by 3–4 orders magnitude. The membrane's performance is attributed its gradient porous structure different wettability between upper lower surfaces, plasmonic effect NPs, high affinity nanosheets. Additionally, fabricated showed pollutant degradation capability potential applications temperature sensing thermoelectric generation.
