Nitrite is a significant toxic substance that causes acute toxicity in aquatic animals. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying nitrite tolerance remain largely unidentified. Here, we investigated physiological and transcriptomic profiles of nitrite-sensitive nitrite-tolerant families white shrimp Penaeus vannamei under stress. Exposure to lethal concentration for 72 h caused higher mortality, accumulation, more severe damage both hemolymph hepatopancreas than families. This manifested as hepatic tubular deformation, hepatocyte necrosis, decreased hemocyte counts, lowered phagocytic activity hemocytes, elevated production reactive oxygen species (ROS), AKP enzyme activity. Furthermore, analysis revealed an upregulation protein processing endoplasmic reticulum (ER) families, triggering apoptosis- autophagy-related pathways hemocytes upon exposure. Additionally, TUNEL staining transmission electron microscopy (TEM) experiments tolerant may mitigate by modulating autophagy apoptosis. Collectively, our results provide valuable foundation exploring shrimp, which could facilitate targeted breeding germplasm with enhanced aquaculture.

The effects of nitrite stress on blood biochemistry, antioxidant capacity, and apoptosis spotted seabass (Lateolabrax maculatus) under high-temperature conditions were investigated. Fish subjected to varying levels concentrations for 28 days, specifically 0, 8, 16 mg/L. Blood gill samples collected at the 1st, 3rd, 7th, 14th, 21st 28th exposure index determination, respectively. Results showed that as concentration increased, hemoglobin (Hb) serum chloride ion (Cl-) decreased. In addition, compared control group, methemoglobin (MetHb), hematocrit (HCT), red cells (RBCs), white (WBCs), potassium (K+) significantly increased in nitrite-stressed group. terms antioxidants, catalase (CAT) superoxide dismutase (SOD) activities decreased with increasing concentration. Additionally, malondialdehyde (MDA) content was Regarding genes related apoptosis, expressions hypoxia-inducible factor (Hif-1α) cytochrome C (Cyt-c) up-regulated 1st 3rd day exposure. P53, Bax, Caspase-3, Caspase-8, Caspase-9 groups different time intervals summary, caused disruption balance ions, capacity gills, expression associated ultimately resulting injury seabass.
