Exploring the dynamic changes and trade-offs/synergies among ecosystem services is essential to urban ecological protection sustainable development. In this study, we quantified spatio-temporal in nine service values Beijing from 2000 2020 based on land-use data equivalent factor method. Correlation analysis geographically weighted regression were combined explore trade-offs synergies between services. The results show that (1) total value of increased CNY 15 billion 52 2020, was mainly contributed by forest, cropland, water. regulating covered largest proportion value, followed supporting services; (2) high-ESV area located mountainous with abundant forest resources, low concentrated central areas; (3) most pairs had synergies, while existed food supply other Measures, such as controlling built-up areas, increasing green space enhancing vegetation protection, well implementing high-quality agriculture, should be taken order balance relationship ESs improve management Beijing.

The Loess Plateau of China is one the regions with most serious soil erosion globally. ambitious "Grain for Green" project was there implemented to restore degraded ecosystems, profoundly changing water yield and carbon sequestration ecosystem services. To understand changes water- carbon-related services (hereafter WCES) in Plateau, this study combined CASA (Carnegie-Ames-Stanford Approach) model InVEST (Integrated Valuation Ecosystem Services Trade-offs) thoroughly reveal intrinsic linkages net primary productivity since Plateau. results show that WCES were increasing 2001, dominated by both climate change human afforestation. showed strong synergistic effects 80% mainly resulting from rapid increase precipitation recent years. atmospheric contributed more provisions, which may have offset trade-off between caused large-scale In view WCES, enhancing input into be an effective measure respond future degradation dry years, such as artificial basin-cross transfer project. Despite low correlation teleconnection factors reduction associated a El Niño event 2015. This assists wise decision-making on ecological management
