The ocean thermal energy conversion (OTEC) system uses the temperature difference between warm sea surface water and deep cold to generate electrical power. Due low-temperature deep-sea water, efficiency of these systems is low compared fossil fuel-driven power plants. In present study, propose a method for increasing output power, efficiency, heat storage an OTEC cycle, outlet existing plant used instead which conventionally employed in basic cycles. results show that, considering average net cycle per month exergy efficiencies are 3.34 % 17.2 %, respectively. Then, suggested investigated using two-stage turbine reheating terms exergy. Comparing obtained two configurations shows proposed increased by 552 kWh month, improved 0.048 0.31 As performance, case study real Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) modeled with cycle. that produced 17.72 MWh from condenser CCPP have been 1.432 8.02 respectively Compared base Also, 18,829 tons day fresh produced, 1.87 %.

Multi-Objective Optimization (MOO) poses a computational challenge, particularly when applied to physics-based models. As result, only up three objectives are typically involved in simulation-based optimization. To go beyond this number, Surrogate Models (SMs) need replace such high-fidelity In exploratory study, the perform comprehensive regression surrogate modeling and conduct MOO for Multi-Generation System (MGS). The most suitable SM was chosen among four neural-network models: Artificial Neural Network (ANN), Convolutional (CNN), Long-Short Term Memory (LSTM), an ensemble model developed through brute-force search using aforementioned final found be superior others, achieving R2 values ranging from 0.9830 0.9999. Next, optimization problem with six conflicting defined performed at distinct of Direct Normal Irradiation (DNI), time-dependent feature. This aimed provide multi-criteria decision-making information based on atmospheric transparency. new understandings were gained: (I) exergy efficiency, production cost, freshwater rate highly influenced by DNI, (II) critical range operation observed within DNI interval 100 400 W/m2. Furthermore, we compared result six-objective that bi-objective obtained our study all showed improvements 1.9% 12.7%. Finally, findings present some practical recommendations put forward applying proposed methodology similar MGSs.

Increasing renewable energy production and integrating it into the current systems may lead to conditional solutions linked context of applications as well regulatory techno-socioeconomic issues. The PRISMI Plus toolkit is a powerful tool that can be improved entail rural areas islands for effective planning various system scenarios associated with urban contexts. target Flagship Case Study Ragusa, Municipality located in Southern Italy, analyzed EnergyPLAN software. simulation validation were carried out by HOMER input dataset was created jointly collaboration Municipality, updated Sustainable Energy Action Plan inserted toolkit, three transition based on different uses considered within post-processing stage. For baseline scenario, no green whole electricity consumption taken account. In two three, 50% 100% shares are secured through optimal investment Photovoltaic (PV) panels, Wind Turbines (WT), Battery Storage (BES) technologies. From an economic point view, concluded best scenario second one thanks increased technical capacity ratio compared other scenarios, showing price reduction up 10 %.
