Virtual reality (VR) has garnered increasing attention in oncology due to its potential enhance patient care by alleviating anxiety and emotional distress. The present work evaluates the hypothesis proposed a recent theoretical model that engagement sense of presence are key mediators impact degree beneficial effects VR may have on well-being breast cancer patients. This study draws data from three previous studies comprising 156 psychological variables studied included dimensions measured before after exposure virtual environment, as well factors related immersive qualities. Correlation mediation analyses were conducted explore relationships among said variables, namely, one's tendency be immersed an activity, engagement, spatial presence, (i.e., valence arousal) Engagement plays crucial mediating role between immersion, positive responses. Patients with greater toward immersion higher environment showed significant improvements. However, alone did not directly lead more experiences; their influence was primarily exerted through engagement. emerges fundamental lever for maximizing benefits oncology. Clinical interventions using should prioritize optimizing environments improve patients' state throughout treatment journey.

This analysis focused on trends measured by estimated annual percentage change (EAPC) explored socioeconomic via sociodemographic index (SDI). Results During 1990–2021, incidence prevalence among increased with rates 0.82 0.87%, respectively. The mortality rate disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) also rose annually −0.12% −0.05, A shift was observed towards regions lower SDI, diet high red meat, alcohol use, fasting plasma glucose identified as prominent risk factors, particularly SDI regions. Conclusion Our findings underscore an escalating global challenge, increasingly shifting areas. underscores necessity for targeted prevention control strategies focusing reducing factors ensuring equitable resource distribution.

Background Postoperative patients with primary hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) confront not only physiological challenges but also psychological and social adaptation issues. It is imperative to enhance psycho-social adjustment (PSA) levels further improve the quality of life among this population. However, research on PSA in postoperative HCC lacking, investigations into its associations resilience, support, fear progression (FoP) remain unexplored currently. Objectives This study aims to: (1) investigate current status analyze influencing factors patients; (2) explore interrelationships FoP based Chronic Illness Adaptation Model employing a structural equation model. Methods Convenience sampling methods were employed recruit participants from Department Hepatobiliary Surgery at tertiary hospital Xi’an, Shaanxi, China, total 399 completed surveys. The survey instruments included general information questionnaire, Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC), Social Support Rating (SSRS), Fear Progression Questionnaire-Short Form (FoP-Q-SF), Psychosocial Adjustment Self-report (PAIS-SR). Data entry was conducted using Epidata 3.1 dual verification, followed by statistical analyses performed SPSS 27.0 Amos 28.0. Results model revealed two paths. In Path 1 (psychological resilience → PSA), direct effect −0.383 (95% CI [−0.589, −0.112]), an indirect −0.075 [−0.170, −0.018]). 2 (social support −0.297 [−0.587, −0.063]), −0.069 [−0.156, −0.019]). Conclusion exhibit lower PSA. Higher correspond elevated levels. Conversely, advanced age, greater financial burden, increased are associated serves as partial mediator between PSA, well Future would benefit longitudinal designs elucidate developmental trajectories causal links these variables.
