The global crisis of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is escalating due to the misuse and overuse antibiotics, slow development new therapies, rise multidrug-resistant (MDR) infections. Traditional antibiotic treatments face limitations, including resistance, disruption microbiota, adverse side effects, environmental impact, emphasizing urgent need for innovative alternative antibacterial strategies. This review critically examines naturally derived biopolymers with intrinsic (essential feature) properties as a sustainable, next-generation traditional antibiotics. These may address bacterial uniquely by disrupting membranes rather than cellular functions, potentially reducing microbiota interference. Through comparative analysis mechanisms applications antibiotics biopolymers, this highlights potential such AMR while supporting human health.

Abstract Gossypetin, a flavonoid present in variety of fruits, vegetables and herbs, exhibits wide range pharmacological effects. Nevertheless, its application cancer therapy is limited due to low bioavailability at the tumor site because poor solubility water slow dissolution rate. To improve therapeutic efficacy GTIN, emergent research looking into using nanocarriers. Silk fibroin, from Bombyx mori silkworm, biocompatible biodegradable polymer with excellent mechanical properties an amphiphilic chemistry that make it promising candidate as controlled release drug system. The study aimed synthesize gossypetin-loaded silk fibroin nanoparticles by desolvation method. GTIN-SFNPs were characterized dynamic light scattering, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy thermo-gravimetric analysis. also exhibited antioxidant, antibacterial antibiofilm activity. Furthermore, GTIN-loaded have shown anticancer activity against HCT-116 colorectal cells concentration 8μg/mL. In addition, fluorescence-based staining methods was confirmed inquest pattern cell death, inferring late apoptotic bodies, live/dead detection trypan blue exclusion assay. Western blotting analysis used confirm down regulation Bcl-2 gene nanoparticles.

The skin is the first line of defense to protect host from external environmental damage. When damaged, wound provides convenience for invasion substances. prolonged nonhealing wounds can also lead numerous subsequent complications, seriously affecting quality life patients. To solve this problem, proteins and peptide components that promote healing have been discovered in animals, which act on key pathways involved healing, such as PI3K/AKT, TGF-β, NF-κ B, JAK/STAT pathways. So far, some formulations topical drug delivery developed, including hydrogels, microneedles, electrospinning nanofibers. In addition, high-performance dressings utilized, great potential healing. Here, research progress promotion by animal-derived summarized, future directions are discussed.
