Abstract In order to alleviate environmental problems and reduce CO 2 emissions, geopolymers had drew attention as a kind of alkali-activated materials. Geopolymers are easier access raw materials, green environment friendly than traditional cement industry. Its special reaction mechanism gel structure show excellent characteristics such quick hardening, high strength, acid alkali resistance. this paper, geopolymer pastes were made with metakaolin (MK) ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS) precursors. The effects liquid–solid ratio (L/S) modulus sodium silicate (Ms) on the performances MK-GGBFS based paste (MSGP) characterized by workability, strength microstructural tests. regression equations obtained central composite design method optimize mix MSGP. goodness fit all more 98%. Based results experiments, optimum was found have L/S 0.75 Ms 1.55. workability MSGP significantly improved while maintaining under design. initial setting time decreased 71.8%, both fluidity 28-d compressive increased 15.3%, compared ordinary Portland pastes. Therefore, promising alternative cementitious material, which can consume large amount MK GGBFS promote clean production.
