Abstract This study investigates the impact of geopolitical risk (GPR) on consumption-based carbon (CCO 2 ) emissions as well moderating role environmental policy stringency (EPS) above relationship. Based data collected from 27 countries 1990 to 2020, basic results sample indicate that GPR accelerates CCO emissions. Quantile regression reveal effect is more pronounced in with higher Moreover, EPS weakens escalating The robust test validate findings reported model. heterogeneity indicates greater developing compared developed countries. also proposes these implications based findings: (1) should ensure a stable political environment, establish legal system and promote energy transition; (2) scope taxes be expanded where different tax rates imposed order useful reducing

This study investigates the dynamic effect of resource productivity and green technologies on renewable energy (RE) use in 28 middle‐income countries from 2006 to 2022 using MMQR, QR causality techniques. Results suggested that technology innovation substantially influences RE use. Second, significant positive coefficients show leads higher consumption at upper quantile due decoupling Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth extracting natural resources, indicating a transition towards more sustainable efficient practices. Based empirical findings, several policy implications are for economies.

Abstract The policy uncertainty surrounding climate change can intensify the urgency of implementing policies and influence investment decisions, thereby serving as a catalyst for transformation. In this context, given its withdrawal from subsequent re-commitment to Paris Agreement, United States (US) may experience over change. Given backdrop, it is paramount importance explore how uncertainties caused by shifts in affect clean energy. This study delves into impact oil prices on modern renewable energy sources, such solar, wind, geothermal, biofuels. most recent monthly data 1989 2023 are used conducting Residual Augmented Least Squares (RALS) methodology. empirical findings show that leading shift US composition, with focus solar energy, wind Moreover, fluctuation has significant effect deployment biofuels, but no discernible power. These provide insights aligning Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 7, highlighting crucial encouraging investments Graphical abstract
