Microfibers are small fiber particles that separate from larger textiles through wear abrasion or home laundering. Pervasive accumulation of synthetic microfibers in the environment is motivating efforts to quantify them, and gain a better understanding factors lead their release garments. Automated imaging systems have been previously employed for quantification natural microfibers. In current study, rayon standard sourced scoured cotton HVI calibration standards were examined with Fiber Quality Analyzer-360 (FQA) automated system. Mechanically stirred suspensions six microfiber showed significantly lower counts than those obtained standard. Probe sonication sample increased observed samples, by 105% on average. Mean length determinations decreased by, average, 5% sonicated an indication count increases not due fragmentation. No significant change was measurements samples. The samples average 95% detection FQA. These results highlight importance proper suspension accurate using FQA

Polystyrene microplastics (MPs) are persistent environmental pollutants commonly encountered in daily human life. Numerous studies have demonstrated their ability to induce liver damage, including oxidative stress, inflammation, and lipid accumulation. However, limited information exists regarding preventive measures against this issue. In our study, we investigated the potential role of selenium nanoparticles (YC-3-SeNPs) derived from Yak-derived Bacillus cereus, a novel nanobiomaterial known for its antioxidant properties metabolism regulation. Using transcriptomic metabolomic analyses, identified key genes metabolites associated with stress imbalance induced by MPs. Upregulated (Scd1, Fasn, Irs2, Lpin) elevated levels arachidonic palmitic acid accumulation were observed MP-exposed mice, but not those exposed SeNPs. Further experiments confirmed that SeNPs significantly attenuated degeneration caused Histological results pathway screening validated findings, revealing MPs suppressed Pparα Nrf2 pathway, whereas activated both pathways. These findings suggest may contribute development nonalcoholic fatty disease (NAFLD), while hold promise as future nanobio-product prevention.
