Abstract Bioplastics have the potential to mitigate plastic pollution and contribute achievement of UN Sustainable Development Goals (UN-SDGs). However, proportion bioplastics in total production is still comparatively low. Understanding consumers’ willingness pay (WTP) influencing factors essential as demands drive need for production. A discrete choice experiment (DCE) was conducted investigate WTP identify underlying drivers barriers sustainable purchase intention. Results showed that 89% time consumers chose bioplastic medical masks while 11% not purchase. Biodegradability most valued attributes which reflected on highest premium price product are biodegradable under six months. Consumers preferred first generation raw material rather than second third material. Moreover, greater percentage free pollutants information were properties. By estimating influence covariates, results education level, income, personal innovativeness, subjective norm, COVID-19 acted drivers, whereas age perceived policy effectiveness consumption products. Based results, implications include highlighting value, providing quality reliability information, informing educating targeted consumer groups, enhancing publicity, adjusting policies based feedback. These can be used develop market promotion strategies products increase shares penetration.

Abstract Polypropylene has a wide range of applications in scientific research, industry, and production due to its excellent mechanical properties chemical stability. However, owing low melt strength, inferior dimensional stability, poor thermal thus limiting further application. Addressing this challenge, series polymer composites consisting rice husk charcoal (RHC), modified using 3-glycidyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (KH560) as the silane coupling agent, polypropylene (PP) have been fabricated by virtue blending process us. Thermal behaviour, crystallization properties, stability microscopic morphology PP/RHC are studied detail. The results show that, when 20% RHC was added composites, it increased initial decomposition temperature PP 130℃, which represents that we manufactured with better simple processing. rheological performance tests showed addition stiffness is more conducive processing moulding material. SEM indicated KH-560 can increase compatibility substrate, improving conforming materials.

The co-biosynthesis of food grade biopolymer/biomolecules by a versatile chassis is economically viable biotechnology. Extracellular secretion exopolysaccharide (EPS) in synergy with intracellular accumulation polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) maximizes the conservation biological resources. In this study, high-performing EPS producing strain TH21-44 was isolated conjunction PHAs fermentation. metabolically diverse bacterium identified as Paracoccus sp. based on taxonomic analysis. genes and metabolic pathways involved synthesis poly-3-hydroxybutyrate (PHB) were comprehensively characterized through whole-genome sequencing. Foremost, combined fermentation capacity further enhanced adjusting process parameters. optimal concentrations PHB (168.26 mg·L-1) (191.11 achieved when 10 g·L-1 glucose using substrate. Accordingly, purified evaluated for cytotoxicity oxidative stress view to fields, obtained properties detected fit appropriate application scenarios. This study presented biomanufacturing craft multi-products, providing new perspective leveraging potential functional microorganisms.
