Introduction Cities globally, including Tokyo, face challenges in managing small urban green spaces due to limited land, aging infrastructure, and rising maintenance costs. This study explores effective community engagement strategies for park revitalization as cities focus on improving existing rather than expanding them. Methods research investigates Toshima Ward, using a case approach involving three parks. Data were collected through interviews with seven management stakeholders survey of 176 residents. The aimed identify key factors successful participation, evaluate perceptions activities, assess residents’ willingness participate. Results Key include public buildings inside outside the parks, sufficient greenery open spaces, local responsible persons. Despite these conditions, such high costs low resident persist. Age differences observed: respondents aged 18-39 emphasized (mean 4.75), while those 40-59 over 60 valued (means 4.64 4.00). Long-term residents (over 10 years) reported lower impact newer residents, larger families rated activities more positively smaller or single-person households. issues included insufficient publicity (60%), restriction normal (20%), waste (14.5%), noise (12.7%). Discussion highlights need address demographic preferences barriers. Tailoring diverse groups, seniors households, can improve participation effectiveness. Preteen girls of lower socioeconomic position are at increased risk physical inactivity. Parental support, particularly from mothers, is positively correlated with girls' activity levels. Consequently, family-based interventions recognized as a promising approach to improve young people's activity. However, the effects these on often inconsistent, calls for more rigorous, theory-informed, and co-designed promote in this cohort. This study aimed use co-design methods develop an evidence- theory-informed mother-daughter mobile health intervention prototype targeting preteen girls. Abstract Nature-based solutions (NbS) have been put forward as an approach to meet many of the challenges facing cities globally, such increased temperatures, flooding and loss biodiversity. Co-creation is a central part NbS approach, with use urban living laboratories (ULLs) mechanism for supporting co-creation processes. In this perspective essay, we will reflect on potential knowledge within ULL context, based experiences from EU H2020-funded projects REGREEN CONEXUS. Furthermore, discuss how ULLs contribute transformative change. This done through elaborating processes co-creation, communication learning, well discussing impacts which similar could have, focusing role local governmental agencies.
