This study employs an innovative metafrontier methodology, inspired by Huang et al. (2014) [10], to investigate the combined impact of economic policy uncertainty, political orientation, and institutional quality on environmental performance 136 emergent non-emerging countries from 1990 2018. Using such a parametric approach, research evaluates countries' efficiency both within specific geographical contexts individual basis. The empirical findings reveal that North America Middle East & Africa are more efficient at implementing pollution-reduction technology. Furthermore, in scenario, quality, orientation significantly affect regional inefficiencies. Notably, uncertainty reduces inefficiency South Asia but improves it elsewhere, while better institutions associated with reduced CO2 emissions enhanced efficiency. Additionally, left-leaning approach demonstrates positive reducing inefficiencies Latin Caribbean. By shedding light intricate interplay between policies, outcomes, global disparities, this advances our understanding poses key inquiries offering potential implications.

With global trade development, emerging economies can absorb biomass energy production techniques and technologies from developed countries. However, several constraints still need to be improved in producing economies. Therefore, this research aims understand the critical motivating factors of that contribute a circular economy via agricultural by-products Vietnam's economy. This study employs qualitative analysis using information in-depth interviews farmer households, by-product traders, bioenergy producers Vietnam. revealed as main determinants energy: (1) digitalization, (2) technical logistics, (3) social capital, (4) prices, (5) government supports. also confirms Vietnam has diverse waste sources high potential for production. To motivate should support credit loans stakeholders energy. Moreover, encourage implement digital transformation expand scale improve business operations. Insights help farmers, by adapting their strategies within local contexts.

Abstract Economic policy uncertainty significantly influences governmental decisions regarding environmental sustainability, particularly in CO 2 emissions reduction efforts. This study examines the impact of economic on inefficiency across 136 emergent and non‐emerging countries from 1990 to 2018, using an unbalanced heterogeneous sample. Additionally, we explore moderating effects institutional quality political orientation this relationship. Employing a directional distance function parametric context, our analysis reveals that exacerbates inefficiency. However, find act as important factors, fostering greater sustainability. Sensitivity analyses support these empirical findings, providing insights into potential implications for guiding regulatory policymaking efforts toward achieving enhanced
