Background: Fluoroquinolones are the most effective antibiotics against Staphylococcus aureus isolates. In hospitals, excessive use of has led to emergence highly resistant strains S. Objective: The aim this study was detect mutations that occur in gyrA gene encoding for DNA gyrase, which is one targets fluoroquinolone resistance. Methods: Fifty clinical isolates were diagnosed as according molecular and bacteriological methods. susceptibility tests performed on all bacterial by disc diffusion method using methicillin six antibiotics. Results: Out fifty isolates, twelve (nalidixic acid, lomefloxacin, ciprofloxacin, norfloxacin, ofloxacin, levofloxacin). From 12 resistant, 3 intermediate, 38 sensitive three or more tested resistance also confirmed minimum inhibitory concentration test. main sources burns (10%), nose (16) wounds (8%), operation room ear (20%), urine skin (6%), throat (22%). Twelve used examine gene. A direct sequence analysis found eight gene; these included 2 (25% missense mutations), 1 (12.5%) deletion mutation, 5 (62.5%) silent at various sites. Conclusion: resulting from may be mechanisms leading

Phenol and inorganic nitrogen generally exist in industrial wastewater contaminated soil. In this study, Acinetobacter guillouiae BY18, which can simultaneously remove high concentrations of phenol nitrogen, was isolated from a wet meadow Weining County, Guizhou Province, China. The optimal remediation conditions for strain BY18 were 25 °C pH 7.20–8.20, with C/N ratio 10, rotation speed 150 r/min, inoculation amount 0.2×108 CFU. When ammonium both present, could 982.86 mg/L 64.76 within 18 h. Strain able to eliminate 979.71 mg/L, 55.84 49.20 phenol, nitrite, nitrate, respectively, 36 h when substituted by nitrate or nitrite. the simultaneous nitrification denitrification reaction system, maximum removal rates 92.53 mg/(L·h) 5.7 mg/(L·h), respectively. Overall, had remarkable ability under different conditions.
