Marine
biofouling
poses
significant
challenges
to
the
economy,
safety,
and
reliability
of
marine
infrastructure.
While
antimicrobial
peptides
(AMPs)
have
emerged
as
green
efficient
antifouling
agents,
their
single
functionality
complexity
preparing
surfaces
remain
key
challenges.

study
introduces
a
multifunctional
AMP
with
combined
adhesion
properties,
derived
from
3,4-dihydroxy-l-phenylalanine
(DOPA)
IP12
(sequence
IRLRWRWKWPWP).
The
directional
recombination
was
guided
by
theoretical
calculations.
Density
functional
theory
(DFT)
simulations
identify
that
hydroxyl
groups
DOPA
were
main
activating
react
aluminum
alloy.
Coarse-grained
molecular
dynamics
(CG
MD)
all-atom
(AA
revealed
amino
acid
residues
near
N-terminal
could
induce
cell
membrane
bending
rupture.

accurate
calibration

ABSTRACT
The
study
focuses
on
the
preparation
of
electrostatically
assembled
layer‐by‐layer
waterborne
nanocoatings
comprising
negatively
charged
Nafion
and
positively
imidazole
modified‐graphene
quantum
dots
(GQD‐Ims).
We
demonstrate
here
that
Nafion/GQD‐Im
can
combat
growth
representative
Gram‐positive
Gram‐negative
bacteria,
their
excellent
antibacterial
performance
is
preserved
after
prolonged
thermal
treatment,
indicating
coatings
withstand
dry
heat
sterilization
without
any
decline
in
properties.
At
same
time,
show
remarkable
chemical
structural
stability,
while
offering
protection
against
UV‐radiation
as
manifested
by
dye
decomposition
experiments.
This
novel
type
demonstrates
a
unique
combination
highly
desirable
characteristics,
making
them
ideal
candidates
for
applications
related
to
active
packaging
cosmetics
drugs,
food
processing,
disinfection
medical
devices.
