Using one-pot multicomponent reactions, two new series of imidazoles (4a–o and 6a–d), were synthesized due to their great biological activity. The first was accomplished by the reaction O-alkyl vanillins 1a–c, ammonium acetate 2, benzil derivatives 3a–e in ethanol, while second obtained reacting 1a, 3a, amino compounds (aniline 5a or acids 5b–d) acetic acid. vitro antibacterial activity novel synthetic assessed against strains gram positive bacteria, such as Bacillus cereus Staphylococcus aureus, negative Pseudomonas aeruginosa Escherichia coli. findings indicated that some evaluated items have promising agents, especially 4d 4e for (+G) bacteria 4c 4f (−G) bacteria.

Marine biofouling poses significant challenges to the economy, safety, and reliability of marine infrastructure. While antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) have emerged as green efficient antifouling agents, their single functionality complexity preparing surfaces remain key challenges. This study introduces a multifunctional AMP with combined adhesion properties, derived from 3,4-dihydroxy-l-phenylalanine (DOPA) IP12 (sequence IRLRWRWKWPWP). The directional recombination was guided by theoretical calculations. Density functional theory (DFT) simulations identify that hydroxyl groups DOPA were main activating react aluminum alloy. Coarse-grained molecular dynamics (CG MD) all-atom (AA revealed amino acid residues near N-terminal could induce cell membrane bending rupture. fabricated validate accurate calibration performance AMP. Atomic force microscopy, Fourier transform infrared, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy results confirm successful construction through function. Antifouling evaluations demonstrated properties against Escherichia coli (Gram-negative) Bacillus sp. (Gram-positive), achieving rates 85.8 82.4%, respectively. provides valuable insights into design AMPs.

ABSTRACT The study focuses on the preparation of electrostatically assembled layer‐by‐layer waterborne nanocoatings comprising negatively charged Nafion and positively imidazole modified‐graphene quantum dots (GQD‐Ims). We demonstrate here that Nafion/GQD‐Im can combat growth representative Gram‐positive Gram‐negative bacteria, their excellent antibacterial performance is preserved after prolonged thermal treatment, indicating coatings withstand dry heat sterilization without any decline in properties. At same time, show remarkable chemical structural stability, while offering protection against UV‐radiation as manifested by dye decomposition experiments. This novel type demonstrates a unique combination highly desirable characteristics, making them ideal candidates for applications related to active packaging cosmetics drugs, food processing, disinfection medical devices.
