Fucoidan from Apostichopus japonicus (Aj-FUC) is a marine polysaccharide extracted the high-quality sea cucumber, which has received increasing attention for its multiple biological activities. In this study, Aj-FUC was extracted, and basic structure characterized, while alleviating efficacy of on ulcerative colitis (UC) investigated using C57BL/6 mice. The improvement fecal gut microbiota in healthy individuals inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) patients explored vitro simulated fermentation. results reflected that treatment attenuated histopathological damage associated with colitis, reduced levels IL-6, IL-1β, TNF-α. also upregulated expression ZO-1 occludin, thereby aiding repair intestinal barrier. Furthermore, enhanced short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) helped restore balance microbiota, particularly by relative abundance Akkermansia. simulation fermentation showed could modulate IBD increase beneficial bacteria. conclusion, study highlights can alleviate UC modulating factors, improving barrier, regulating flora variety ways.

Background and Aim: Seaweeds, particularly brown seaweed (BS) green (GS), are rich in bioactive compounds that may enhance poultry health productivity. This study evaluates the effects of dietary BS GS on blood plasma immunoglobulin concentrations, mucosal immunity, small intestine histomorphology, cecal microbial populations, volatile fatty acid (VFA) profiles broiler chickens. Materials Methods: A total 504 one-day-old male broilers were randomly assigned to 12 treatments: negative control (basal diet), a positive diet + 100 mg/kg Vitamin E), diets supplemented with at 0.25%, 0.50%, 0.75%, 1.00%, 1.25%. The followed completely randomized design, data analyzed using one-way analysis variance Duncan’s multiple range test (p < 0.05). Results: Broilers fed 1.25% exhibited significantly higher 0.05) (IgA) G (IgG) concentrations. Dietary inclusion upregulated messenger RNA expression interleukin-6, interleukin-10, interferon-gamma, indicating immunomodulatory effects. Jejunal villus height was increased birds during starter period. Birds receiving 0.50% BS, 0.25% GS, Lactobacillus counts, whereas 0.75% reduced Escherichia coli populations. Furthermore, VFA propionic concentrations observed 1.00% as well BS. Conclusion: (0.75%, 1.25%) enhances immune response by increasing IgA IgG levels. Both positively modulate cytokine expression, intestinal morphology, balance, leading improved gut health. results suggest supplementation serve sustainable feed additives performance while reducing reliance synthetic supplements. Future studies should focus identifying responsible for these their broader implications production. Keywords: chickens, health, immunoglobulin, supplementation, nutrition, acids.

Suitable planting systems are critical for the physicochemical and bioactivities of strawberry (Fragaria × ananassa Duch.) polysaccharides (SPs). In this study, SPs were prepared through hot water extraction, differences in characteristics between derived from elevated matrix soilless strawberries (EP-SP) those conventional soil (GP-SP) investigated. A higher extraction yield was observed EP-SP (5.88%) than GP-SP (4.67%), slightly values measured average molecular weight (632.10 kDa vs. 611.88 kDa) total sugar content (39.38% 34.92%) EP-SP. contrast, a protein (2.12% 1.65%) more ordered arrangement exhibited by GP-SP. Monosaccharide composition analysis revealed that contained levels rhamnose (12.33%) glucose (49.29%), whereas richer galactose (11.06%) galacturonic acid (19.12%). Thermal indicated only minor decomposition temperatures (approximately 225-226 °C) thermal stability samples. However, showed enthalpy change (ΔHg = 18.74 J/g) compared to (13.93 J/g). Biological activity assays generally exerted stronger non-enzymatic glycation inhibition at both early final stages (IC50: 7.47 mg/mL 7.82 11.18 11.87 mg/mL, respectively), effective against intermediate α-dicarbonyl compounds (maximum 75.32%). Additionally, superior α-glucosidase (IC50 2.4583 mg/mL), line with kinetic fluorescence quenching analyses showing enzyme-substrate complex binding affinity (Kis 1.6682 mg/mL; Ka 5.1352 105 M-1). Rheological measurements demonstrated solutions pronounced increase apparent viscosity concentrations (reaching 3477.30 mPa·s 0.1 s-1 70 mg/mL) shear-thinning behavior, while comparatively lower network order. These findings suggest different significantly affect structures functionalities SPs, demonstrating enhanced hypoglycemic anti-glycation properties. It is therefore recommended suitable be selected optimize functionality plant-derived potential applications food pharmaceutical industries.

An tea is highly valued for its unique post-fermentation process, which enriches flavor and aroma. In this study, the digestion fermentation characteristics of polysaccharides (ATPSs) were investigated in vitro. The results indicated that molecular weight sugar content ATPSs remained unchanged during simulated saliva, gastric, small intestinal but reduced fermentation, suggesting could pass digestive system be metabolized by gut microbiota. Notably, modulated microbiota, reducing pathogenic bacteria such as Desulfovibrio Escherichia, while enhancing beneficial genera like Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium, Prevotella, alongside an increase short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs). vivo experiments on C57BL/6J mice demonstrated promoted levels Lactobacillus Bifidobacterium. These findings suggest serve a potential prebiotic to improve human health modulating
