Fruits are crucial components of a balanced diet and good source natural antioxidants, that have proven efficacy in various chronic illnesses. Various kinds waste generated from fruit industries considered global concern. By utilizing this waste, the international goal “zero waste” can be achieved by sustainable utilization these materials as rich secondary metabolites. Moreover, to overcome burden, research focused on recovering bioactive compounds obtaining new strategy combat certain diseases. The separation high-value substances including phytochemicals, dietary fibers, polysaccharides which then used functional ingredients for long-term health benefits. Several novel extraction technologies like ultrasound-assisted (UAE), pressurized liquid (PLE), supercritical fluid (SFE) could provide an alternative approach successful valuable bioactives their nutraceuticals, therapeutics, value-added products. Most waste-derived metabolites comprise polyphenols, been reported anti-inflammatory, insulin resistance-treating, cardiovascular disease-maintaining, probiotics-enhancing, or even anti-microbial anti-viral capabilities. This review summarizes current knowledge by-products pharmacological, biological, probiotic applications highlights several methods identifying efficacious wastes.

Curcumin, a natural active compound derived from plants, is widely used as pigment across the globe. Research has demonstrated that curcumin possesses neuroprotective properties in spinal cord injuries (SCIs); however, its specific mechanisms of action remain unclear. This study aimed to elucidate potential underlying curcumin's therapeutic effects SCI. We screened targets treatment injury using network pharmacology variety public databases. The interaction between and target was analyzed through bioinformatics analysis, molecular docking, dynamics simulation. Finally, prediction results were verified by simulating oxygen-glucose deprivation (OGD) PC12 cells. Initial screening indicated 13 core involved mitigating Curcumin may regulate HIF pathway, immune cells, inflammation, oxidative stress, other processes. Matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP9), tumor necrosis factor (TNF), interleukin-1β (IL-1β), signal transducer activator transcription 3 (STAT3), caspase (CASP3) identified key SCI regulation. Molecular docking exhibited favorable affinity with targets, MMP9 showing highest binding (-8.76 kcal/mol). Further studies confirmed stably binds MMP9, site located at residues 220-225. Cell counting kit-8 (CCK8) assay showed exerted good effect. Western blot inhibited expression protein but had no significant effect on TNF-α. exerts multiple pathways. Acne vulgaris (AV) is a common problem with relatively high incidence rate among Asian people. The potential antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties of banana peels have been demonstrated in previous studies but not studied cases AV. Therefore, this study was aimed at investigating the protective effects (Musa balbisiana) peel extract (MBPE) against AV.Thirty rats were divided into five groups (n = 6 per group): an AV group, group treated 0.15% MBPE, administered 0.30% 0.60% clindamycin (the standard drug treatment). We assessed nodule size, bacterial count, histopathology, cytokine levels (IL-1α, IFN-γ, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, IL-8). Enzyme linked immunoassays used to measure levels. In addition, we performed molecular docking determine interactions between phytochemicals (trigonelline, vanillin, ferulic acid, isovanillic rutin, salsolinol) via Toll-like receptor 2 (TLR2) nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) pathways. All MBPE treatment groups, compared showed suppression both growth proinflammatory production, as well resolved tissue inflammation. size significantly suppressed receiving two highest doses group. However, pharmacological action remained inferior that clindamycin. Docking rutin phytocompound most negative interaction energy TLR2 or NF-κB.Our results indicated has AV, by suppressing formation, inhibiting growth, decreasing production.
