Food insecurity, defined as insufficient access to nutritious foods, is a social determinant of health that may underpin disparities in the US. American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) individuals experience many inequities be related food but no systematic analyses existing evidence have been published. Thus, objective this scoping review was assess literature on insecurity among AI/AN communities, with focus prevalence its relations sociodemographic, nutrition, characteristics. Systematic search data extraction processes were used. Searches conducted PubMed well peer-reviewed journal government websites. Of 3174 identified references, 34 publications describing 30 studies predominantly sample populations included final narrative synthesis. Twenty-two (73%) cross-sectional remaining 8 (27%) described interventions. The weighted average across 45.7%, although estimates varied from 16% 80%. The study objective was to determine prevalence of food insecurity and its associations with socioecological model (SEM) characteristics for undergraduate graduate students. An online questionnaire distributed a convenience sample students aged 18–34 at Midwestern university. Of the 938 responses, 675 were complete analysis. Outcome measures included demographics, security level, housing, access barriers, coping strategies, assistance program usage. Results found that predictors associated non-White race, receipt financial aid, lower self-reported health status, living off-campus, employment, cost (p < 0.001). Objectives. To describe food insecurity in the United States December 2020 and examine associations with underuse of medical care during COVID-19 pandemic. Methods. We fielded a nationally representative Web-based survey (n = 8318). Multivariable logistic regression models predicted probabilities were used to evaluate factors associated compare likelihood delaying or forgoing because cost concerns by security status. Results. In 2020, 18.8% US adults surveyed reported experiencing insecurity. Elevated odds observed among non-Hispanic Black, Hispanic, low-income respondents. Abstract Despite over a decade of both quantitative and qualitative studies, food insecurity among US college/university students remains pervasive problem within higher education. The purpose this perspective piece was to highlight research gaps in the area college provide rationale for community focus on these going forward. ABSTRACT Little is known regarding the intrastudent barriers to accessing and utilising Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Background/Objective: Food insecurity remains a significant public health concern that negatively impacts college students’ academic performance and health. One in three students experiences inconsistent access to food, known as food insecurity, which has attracted research interest. This study examined the effectiveness of 10-item United States Department Agriculture Security Scale Module (USDA-FSSM) accurately effectively measuring security among students.
