Abstract A pressing issue for both academia and industry is determining how to improve the quality of corporate environmental information disclosure. This study investigates impact digital finance on such disclosure, focusing non-financial listed companies in China’s Shanghai Shenzhen A-share markets from 2011 2022. The findings are as follows: First, its sub-dimensions exert a significant positive influence disclosure quality, conclusion validated through series robustness checks. Second, channel mechanism analysis reveals that enhances primarily by alleviating financing constraints reducing agency costs, reflecting effects resource acquisition governance. Third, more pronounced under weaker regulation lower public pressure accountability, suggesting functions an effective complement existing supervision. contributes literature elucidating consequences extending theoretical framework context green development.

Abstract The study examines the digital finance (DF) and regional sustainable development (RSD) across 90 cities within six major city clusters in China over period from 2011 to 2020. By constructing an evaluation index system for DF RSD, we employed entropy value method assess their levels, coupling coordination degree (CCD) model evaluate interplay. Our analysis extended temporal spatial disparities, distribution dynamics, convergence of CCD through kernel density estimation, Markov chain analysis, $$\sigma$$ σ -convergence, $$\beta$$ β -convergence techniques. results indicate a consistent upward trend CCD, yet it remains at low level with pronounced disparities characteristics. distribution’s central tendency has shifted rightward progressively, albeit decelerating pace annually. transition probability matrix suggests stable various hinting “club convergence”. Furthermore, both analyses reveal significant trends enhanced by economic growth factors. Using Quadratic Assignment Procedure (QAP) method, found that significantly influence CCD’s variances.

The global landscape is witnessing a seismic shift propelled by the wave of digital economy, with transformation emerging as linchpin for nations striving high-quality development. This paper navigates intricate nexus between policy orientation and to steer green sustainable innovation within Chinese enterprises. Drawing on nuanced theoretical analysis how intricately shapes enterprises' innovation, this research systematically dissects impact crafting multi-temporal double-difference model rooted in quasi-natural experiment Smart City Pilot policy. results underscore profound influence propelling enterprises, particularly accentuated effect evident non-state-owned enterprises firms nestled urban locales characterized robust industrialization levels. Furthermore, we identify government support environmental governance significant channels through which exerts its influence, while financing constraints play moderating role shaping impact. These insights offer valuable guidance formulating policies aimed at fostering
