Fintech
is
driving
the
revolution
of
finance
and
profoundly
affecting
development
financial
sector.

studies
examined
how
commercial
banks’
fintech
innovation
affects
total
factor
productivity
(TFP).
To
build
up
index
banks,
we
use
web
crawler
technology
to
accumulate
news
related
banks
in
Baidu
news.
We
panel
data
72
China
from
2010
2020
explore
impacts
mechanisms
on
TFP.
The
results
show
that
effectively
improves
TFP
after
a
series
robustness
tests.
Further,
find
can
improve
by
promoting
innovations
products,
increasing
risk
control
capability,
reducing
cost,
improving
profit.
Also,
utility
more
significant
with
assets,
facilities,
human
capital,
which
means
creates
“bigger
better”
mindset.
Meanwhile,
result
quantile
regression
shows
higher
innovation,
increase
TFP,
further
reveals
there
‘too
big
fail’
among

digitalization.

enhances
entrepreneurship

city
provincial
levels,

results
remaining
robust
across
various
tests.

BRI's

effects

small
medium‐sized
central
western
regions.
