Oxidative stress occurs when there is an imbalance between the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and body’s antioxidant defenses. It poses a significant threat to physiological function reproductive cells. Factors such as xenobiotics heat can worsen this stress, leading cellular damage apoptosis, ultimately decreasing efficiency. The nuclear factor erythroid 2–related 2 (Nrf2) signaling pathway plays crucial role in defending against oxidative protecting cells via enhancing responses. Dysregulation Nrf2 has been associated with infertility suboptimal performance mammals. ABSTRACT Sulfasalazine, an anti‐inflammatory drug used in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disorders poses a threat to male reproductive potential. With growing interest therapeutic ability dietary flavonoids mitigate drug‐related dysfunction males, we evaluated possible protective potentials quercetin against sulfasalazine‐induced genotoxicity bone marrow and apoptosis testis, semen, epididymis Wistar rats. Twenty rats were placed into four groups ( n = 5) orally administered following for 14 consecutive days: Group 1: 0.5% sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (1 ml/kg). 2: (20 mg/kg). 3: sulfasalazine (600 4: mg/kg) + Tumor suppressor protein (Tp53), caspase 9, 3 levels increased while TUNEL positive sperm sulfasalazine‐treated rats, indicative apoptotic death sperm. These significantly decreased co‐administered with quercetin. However, Tp53, 9 remained unchanged, TUNEL‐stained cells not evident testes treated sulfasalazine. Again, frequency micronuclei (MN) its genotoxic MN was, however, their on co‐administration In conclusion, our findings suggest that holds promise ameliorating associated sulfasalazine's detrimental effect fertility DNA.

Objective: To investigate the potential of N -acetylcysteine (NAC) and zinc sulphate (ZnSO 4 ) in mitigating reproductive dysfunction caused by di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP) rats to understand underlying mechanisms, specifically oxidative stress sex hormone receptor activity. Methods: Thirty-five male Wistar were randomly divided into five equal groups ( n =7 per group). Group 1 was administered 0.5 mL distilled water served as control group. 2 given only DEHP (750 mg/kg/day), while group 3, 5 mg/kg/day) plus NAC (100 ZnSO (0.5 well respectively.
