In recent years, with the rapid advancement of China’s urbanization, contradiction between urban development and ecological environment has become increasingly prominent, system now faces severe challenges. this study, we proposed an index-based approach to monitor evaluate using a Google Earth Engine cloud-based platform Landsat time series. Firstly, long-term series images was obtained construct calculate remote sensing-based index (RSEI). Then, Theil–Sen median estimation Mann–Kendall test were used trend significance RSEI combined Hurst predict future in study area. Finally, coefficient variation method determine temporal stability environment. Taking Zhoushan Archipelago, China, as area, mapped distribution spatial resolution 30 m evaluated from 1985 2020. The results show that (1) 2020, average Archipelago decreased 0.7719 0.5817, increasing at rate −24.64%. (2) changes areas each level environmental quality generally exhibited decreasing trend. During period, proportion excellent by 38.83%, while poor relatively increased 20.03%. (3) Based on overall change trend, degradation greater than improvement, area accounting for 84.35% total improvement 12.61% stable 3.05% (4) From perspective sustainability changes, 86.61% positive sustainability, indicating strong. (5) concentrated range 0–0.40, having value 0.1627 standard deviation 0.1467, values during period concentrated, interannual fluctuations data small, stable. provide theoretical methods decision-making basis dynamic monitoring regional governance island areas.

Abstract The pursuit of happiness has been an essential goal individuals and countries throughout history. In the past few years, researchers academicians have developed a huge interest in notion ‘happiness economy’ that aims to prioritize subjective well-being life satisfaction over traditional economic indicators such as Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Over many adopted well-being-oriented framework re-design welfare policies assess environmental, social, economic, sustainable progress. Such policy focuses on human planetary instead material growth income. present study offers comprehensive summary existing studies subject, exploring how economy can help achieve development. For this purpose, systematic literature review (SLR) summarised 257 research publications from 1995 2023. yielded five major thematic clusters, namely- (i) Going beyond GDP: Transition towards economy, (ii) Rethinking for sustainability ecological regeneration, (iii) Beyond money policy, (iv) Health, capital wellbeing (v) Policy push economy. Furthermore, proposes future directions policymakers build framework.

The rapid growth of gross domestic product (GDP) in developing countries may lead to the overconsumption ecosystem services (ESs). This situation presents as imbalance ecological conservation and economic development, is case areas West China, such Guiyang city. study utilized PLUS model simulate future land use/land cover (LULC) scenarios InVEST assess ESs relation GDP research findings reveal following: 1) developed contributes degradation increased potential hazards. implementation policies be driver use change a factor influencing changes ESs. For example, between 2010 2020, area by 339%, but soil retention carbon storage decreased 2.04% 3.26%, respectively. 2) showed spatial heterogeneity. From 2020 2030, general hot spot distribution was consistent, which closely related change. 3) Trade-offs synergistic effects exist ESs, including trade-off synergy water yield. comes at expense emphasizes need prioritize degraded southern It urges stronger management redlines, stricter construction policies, balanced approach development protection.
