For the first time, a systematic study of behavior Ag2[B12Cl12] in oxygen-containing organic solvents various nature (acetone, N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF), dimethoxyethane (DME), methanol (CH3OH), and tetrahydrofuran (THF)) was conducted. The used were found to compete with perchlorinated [B12Cl12]2– anion, forming silver(I) coordination polyhedron. A number compounds compositions structures solvent molecules acting as ligands obtained characterized by physicochemical methods. polymer complexes {Ag2(solv)x[B12Cl12]}n (x = 4, solv acetone (1), DMF (2), CH3OH (4), THF (7); x 2, DME (3)) coordinated well [Ag(THF)3]2[B12Cl12] (5) [Ag(THF)4Ag(THF)2][B12Cl12] (6) boron cluster anion counterion determined single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Furthermore, complexation 18-crown-6 (L1) 4-methylmorpholine (L2) investigated. Salts complex cations [Ag L1(CH3OH)]+ (8) [Ag(L2)2]+ (9) isolated. Based on results obtained, plausible pathway for process ligand L proposed. data confirmed using 109Ag NMR spectroscopy solutions salt individual their mixtures.

Two transition metal complexes viz. [Cd(2-mcpH)4](NO3)2 (1) and [Zn(2-mcpH)4](NO3)2 (2) were synthesized by the reaction of cadmium(II) nitrate tetrahydrate or zinc(II) hexahydrate with 2-mercaptopyridine (2-mcpH) in 1:4 molar ratio.
