Abstract Composites of phase change materials and porous media have been demonstrated as an efficient way to enhance thermal conductivity. To investigate the heat transfer process within material, a pore‐level composite material model is established. The lattice structure can be idealized by hexahedral Kelvin structure. demonstrates superior performance employed study effect porosity pore density on melting material. numerical results indicate that for constant density, both time temperature response decrease decreases. Similarly, fixed porosity, increase in leads reduction time. Melting efficiency coefficient introduced evaluate improvement achieved using with different structural structures. Among all structures examined, 0.86 20 pores per inch (PPI) exhibits best performance, achieving complete 3.37 s, 4.92 10.17.
