Marine algae are a rich and underexplored source of haloperoxidases, enzymes with wide ranging applications in biocatalysis, pharmaceuticals, environmental bioremediation due to their ability catalyze the halogenation organic compounds. This review focuses on recent advancements purification haloperoxidases from marine algae, highlighting both traditional innovative methods. We discussed limited exploration green algal potential for discovering novel unique properties. The examines advantages disadvantages chromatographic techniques, such as ion-exchange, size exclusion, affinity chromatography, explores emerging alternatives, including aqueous two-phase systems (ATPS) microfluidic systems, improving enzyme yield, purity, stability. use ATPS address challenges posed by alginate-rich brown is emphasized, along optimization strategies scaling up processes. growing importance sustainable chemistry approaches minimize impact while achieving high efficiency also discussed. By analyzing current identifying knowledge gaps, suggesting future research directions, this aims provide meaningful insights into industrial thereby stimulating further innovation field.
