ABSTRACT
Previous
research
on
the
detrimental
consequences
of
employees'
unethical
pro‐organizational
behaviors
(UPB)
has
been
based
mainly
cognitive
dissonance
theory.
The
authors
suggest
that
moral
disengagement
theory
and

be
used
to
explain
negative
effects
UPB.

a

experiment

Purpose
This
paper
