Abstract The tritium breeder and structural materials are necessary components in the blanket to realize (T) self‐sustainment of nuclear fusion. long‐term exposure between breeders will cause surface corrosion irradiation environments then further affect release behavior. In this study, chemical compatibility Li 2 TiO 3 ceramic pebbles advanced was studied systematically at 700 °C for 300 h under He+0.1 % H environment, respectively. color changes from white dark grey black. Moreover, grain size increases more than 5 μm, crushing load decreased slightly. For materials, Al‐rich oxide layer with about 188.7 nm 14Cr‐5Al dispersion strengthened (ODS) steel Cr‐Fe rich 1.04 μm 14Cr‐ODS were observed on cross‐section. effective diffusion coefficient O element moved into ODS calculated be 3.3 × 10 −16 cm /s 1.02 −14 /s. Unfortunately, when SiC ceramics contacted pebbles, crystal phase transformed SiO , which severely limits its application. Therefore, these results provide guidance selection future.
