Hydrogen embrittlement (HE) and hydrogen-induced cracking (HIC) behaviour of a X65 steel pipeline weldment were investigated using slow strain rate tensile (SSRT) testing specimens that specifically extracted from different zones the (i.e., weld metal (WM), heat-affected zone (HAZ), base (BM)). The WM was found to be most susceptible HE HIC, while BM least. Analysis microstructure, fracture surface, secondary crack formation, mechanical revealed high susceptibility is correlated microstructural features including Ti-rich inclusions, martensite/austenite (M/A) constituents, prior austenite grain boundaries (PAGBs).
