COVID-19 has seen the propagation of alternative remedies to treat respiratory disease, such as nebulization hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O ). As H known cytotoxicity, it was hypothesised that inhalation would negatively impact cilia function. To test this hypothesis, mouse tracheal samples were incubated with different concentrations (0.1–1%) then motility, generated flow, and cell death assessed 0–120 min following treatment. 0.1–0.2% caused immediate depression motility complete cessation flow. Higher (≥0.5%) Cilia flow restored 30 after 0.1% remained depressed 120 0.2–0.5% No recovery treatment ≥1% . Live/dead staining revealed preferential ciliated epithelia over non-ciliated epithelia, 1% causing 35.3 ± 7.0% cells die initial This study shows significantly impacts characterised by a significant impairment in even at low concentrations, higher doses, cytotoxic effect on epithelial promoting death. While data needs further using vivo models, suggests extreme care should be taken when considering treating diseases nebulised
