Peripheral inflammation is closely related to the pathogenesis of sickness behaviors and psychiatric disorders such as anxiety depression. The circumventricular organs (CVOs) are important brain sites perceive peripheral inflammatory signals, but few studies have reported their role in inflammation-induced or Using a mouse model lipopolysaccharide (LPS)–induced inflammation, we identified previously unreported subfornical organ (SFO), one CVOs, combating anxiety. LPS treatment induced anxiety-like mice. Although both SFO organum vasculosum lamina terminalis (a CVO) neurons were activated after treatment, only manipulating modulated LPS-induced behaviors. Activating inhibiting alleviated aggravated In addition, exerted this effect through glutamatergic projections bed nucleus stria terminalis. Manipulating did not affect Thus, uncovered an active counteracting

Sepsis is a life‑threatening multiple organ failure disease caused by an uncontrolled inflammatory response and can progress to acute lung injury (ALI). Heat‑shock protein B8 (HSPB8) serves cytoprotective role in types of diseases; however, the best our knowledge, regulatory HSPB8 sepsis‑induced ALI remains unclear. A549 human alveolar type II epithelial cells were treated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) for 24 h simulate model. Cell transfection was performed overexpress HSPB8, mitochondrial division inhibitor‑1 (Mdivi‑1) 2 before LPS induction assess underlying mechanism. Protein expression evaluated using western blotting immunofluorescence assay. Cytokines examined ELISA assay kits antioxidant enzymes their detection kits. apoptosis detected flow cytometry. The membrane potential JC‑1 staining. upregulated overexpression attenuated LPS‑induced cytokine levels, oxidative stress cells. inhibited mitophagy reduced cells, which partly overexpression. Furthermore, Mdivi‑1 decreased inhibitory effect on response, LPS‑treated In conclusion, LPS‑mediated promoting mitophagy, indicating as therapeutic target ALI.
