Agricultural production faces the dual challenge of increasing output while ensuring efficient resource utilization and environmental sustainability amid escalating global climate change relentless increases in human demand. This study used provincial panel data from China 2001 to 2022 address these challenges. It systematically evaluated dynamic evolution agricultural green total factor productivity (AGTFP) by selecting “resources” “energy” as core input factors adopting a dual-output approach focused on “economic” “low-carbon” outcomes. thoroughly analyzed synergistic mechanisms such natural endowment, technology, economic development, regulation, exploring their impact AGTFP enhancement through innovative application fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) method. There was significant upward trend across China, indicating notable progress development. Additionally, three pathways promoting improvement were identified: resource–economy-driven, technology–policy-guided, multifactor-synergy. Simultaneously, two modes constraining uncovered: economy–policy suppression capital–economy suppression, highlighting pivotal role regional development conditionality converting advantages. Moreover, contributions exhibited temporal dynamics. Major events, 2008 financial crisis policy shifts, including 2012 “Ecological Civilization” strategy, significantly altered effectiveness existing configurations. Our heterogeneity revealed distinct geographical patterns, with resource–economy-driven model predominantly observed central regions technology–policy-guided multi-factor-synergy models more prevalent eastern regions. These findings highlight importance formulating differentiated policies tailored specific needs stages different Specifically, enhancing synergy between management optimizing technology–policy integration, coordinated multisectoral are critical fostering sustainable practices. research provides crucial empirical evidence for shaping targeted that can drive diverse contexts.

Against the backdrop of escalating environmental pollution and resource depletion induced by traditional agricultural industry development, imperative for efficiency ecologically friendly practices has become pivotal global sustainability. In digital era, rural digitalization substantially amplified production while notably reducing pollution. This study is based on panel data from 1602 counties in China spanning 2011 to 2020, measuring levels green total factor productivity (AGTFP) across these counties, empirically examining their dynamic correlation. The research findings reveal: (1) A significant enhancement AGTFP with elevation digitalization; every 1 % increase digitalization, increases 1.78 %. Robustness checks, including instrumental variables quasi-natural experiments, affirm validity conclusions. Furthermore, comparing regional differences China, it can be observed that impact varies different areas: eastern, central, western regions, 2.65 %, 1.53 0.82 respectively. (2) Rural fosters an stimulating entrepreneurial activity, mediation effect activity accounting 3.34 effect. (3) Utilizing a threshold model, observations indicate when surpasses first 0.3200, coefficient escalates 0.0462 0.7519. However, exceeds second 0.7118, this declines 0.2429, signifying nonlinear trend marginal AGTFP-initial followed attenuation. (4) spatial model analysis, confirms spillover effects AGTFP, indicating variations among matrices. indirect mainly influenced neighboring counties' levels, contribute more significantly than direct effects. Based conclusions, paper proposes augmenting investments implementing diversified schemes, invigorating harmonizing development as novel approaches enhance thereby fostering economic development.

The advent of new digital technologies has catalyzed a disruptive technological revolution, fostering significant industrial changes and advancing the green transformation economy society. This paper investigates influence digitization on agribusiness firms, focusing agriculture-related companies listed Shanghai Shenzhen A-share markets from 2013 to 2021. Employing fixed-effect mediated-effect models, study examines mechanisms through which impacts these enterprises. findings indicate that relationship between in is non-linear; certain threshold must be achieved before it positively affects transformation. effect varies according nature business ownership, company size, supply chain flexibility, regional environmental regulations. reveals influences several promote economies scale, innovation, structural adjustments. Analyzing the coupled coordination of digital economy (DE) and agricultural green development (AGD) exploring main influencing factors affecting their are key to achieving high-quality sustainable in agriculture. These measures also crucial for United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In this study, we constructed a comprehensive evaluation system including two subsystems, DE AGD, firstly measured AGD trends 13 provinces China’s grain-producing areas during decade from 2012 2021 using EW-TOPSIS. Secondly, coupling (CCD) model was used analyze static results dynamic evolution process CCD subsystems study area. Finally, gray correlation degree (GCD) identify interaction between systems 2021. The show following: (1) levels generally rose period, but level gap regions obvious, relatively lagged behind. (2) increased year by year, overall changed “uncoordinated” “coordinated”. (3) At beginning achievements had great impact on AGD. application advanced technology industry upgrading profound DE. However, later, changed. This paper analyzes above empirical time space, aiming provide policymakers with new working ideas achieve SDGs.

The integration of agriculture and tourism, grounded in agricultural resources, not only offers new development opportunities for the sector but also steers it towards a greener more sustainable trajectory. Using panel data from 30 provinces China 2011 to 2022, this study quantifies levels tourism (ATL) green (AGD) each province. Then, applies fixed effects model, spatial Durbin smooth transition regression (PSTR) model empirically assess impact ATL on AGD, as well its spillover effect nonlinear characteristics. findings are follows: (1) Over period, both AGD exhibited steady growth, with marked agglomeration effects; (2) positively influenced suggesting that contributes agriculture; (3) significant effects, meaning integrated agricultural-tourism one region can enhance neighboring provinces; (4) demonstrated characteristics, influence intensifying increased. Based these findings, proposes several policy recommendations, including strengthening top-level design, improving regional coordination mechanisms, enhancing human capital cultivation, foster deeper further accelerate agriculture.

Amid the urgent need to align agricultural practices with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this study examines role of digitalization in promoting sustainable and green development China. Specifically, it explores demand-side factors that drive improvements categorizes models into three types: market-oriented, policy-driven, innovation-driven. Utilizing provincial-level data from 2011 2021, employs semiparametric spatial Durbin empirically assess effects, underlying mechanisms, regional disparities advancing development. The main findings are as follows: (1) Overall, both level have gradually increased during period, significantly contributing (2) impact on shows an upward trend eastern, coastal, non-grain-producing regions, well southeastern areas “Hu Huanyong Line”. In contrast, inland regions northwestern Line” exhibit a U-shaped relationship, grain-producing experience clear inhibitory effect.
