Self-related processes (SRPs) have been theorized as key mechanisms of mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs), but the evidence supporting these theories is currently unclear. This map introduces a comprehensive framework for different types SRPs, and how they are to function MBIs (target identification). The then assesses SRP target engagement by mindfulness training relationship between outcomes validation). Discussion measurement SRPs also included. most common measured engaged standard represented valenced evaluations self-concept, including rumination, self-compassion, self-efficacy, self-esteem. Rumination showed strongest mechanism depression, with other physical mental health supported. Self-compassion consistent was inconsistently related improved outcomes. Decentering interoception emerging potential mechanisms, their construct validity subcomponents still in development. While some embodied self-specifying being cross-sectional meditation induction studies, very few assessed MBIs. mechanistic support represent positive negative self-concept. In sum, MBIs, additional research using well-validated measures needed clarify role mechanisms.

This study aims to investigate the impact of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) for bipolar disorders on emotional responses by using skin conductance recording, and a mediating or predictive effect cognitive reactivity.Sixty-seven patients with disorder were assessed at baseline, pre-MBCT post-MBCT. After answering inventories regarding depression dysfunctional attitudes, they instructed focus pictures from International Affective Pictures System while electrodermal recording. For subgroup having significant change response, MBCT reduced attitudes amplitude physiological response negative stimuli. Findings also show that lower baseline predicted larger reduction reactivity.MBCT could decrease patient's reactivity stimuli decreasing its component, which is coherent aim facilitate disengaging affective Further studies are needed better understand mechanisms involved how this translate in reducing risk relapse.

Abstract Objectives Dysfunctional attitudes (DA) are higher in depression; however, less is understood about their role bipolar disorder (BD). This paper aimed to explore the presence of DA BD comparison clinical and non‐clinical groups. Also explored were associations between mood states depression, mania or euthymia BD. Methods A systematic review meta‐analysis conducted. total 47 articles included which 23 meta‐analysis. The quality each study was rated. Results showed significantly than healthy controls ( d = .70). However, no difference observed unipolar participants −.16). When reviewing state within BD, a significant mean found scores for euthymic depressed −.71), with those who scoring higher. Three studies that psychological therapies reduce (d −.38). Conclusions These findings imply not only both characteristic as prevalent populations but also associated increased severity. implies could possibly go ‘offline’ when symptoms present. Psychological appear Implications future research well practice‐based implications expanded on discussion.

Abstract Objective The efficacy of psychological interventions for bipolar disorder (BD) is well established, but much remains unknown about how change occurs. primary objective this exploratory study was to audit what known active components and mechanisms action BD. Method We conducted a systematic review (PROSPERO CRD42022323276). Two independent reviewers screened references from four databases extracted data eligible studies. Results included component studies, six studies with mediation analyses 26 presenting subjective experiences bring change. Ten mediators were examined across only one putative mediator, medication adherence, tested in more than study. Some initial support varied outcomes by control over thoughts, positive non‐verbal behaviour, self‐esteem, post‐trauma growth adherence. preliminary found two components, human IPT. Studies exploring participant therapeutic enumerated range potential contextual factors potentially warranting investigation future research. However, the evidence base BD unsatisfactory. Findings inconsistent, homogenous significant methodological limitations statistical approaches failed meet quality criteria. Conclusions Preliminary identification via qualitative insights emerging will inform research aimed at investigating work

We proposed the Emotional Autobiographical Memory Test (EAMT) as a specialized method for measuring emotional autobiographical memory impairment in patients with mental disorders. The EAMT was tested 32 schizophrenia, 18 bipolar disorder, depression, and 42 people undiagnosed such extracted 13 indices of five kinds features from participants' compared them among four groups. overgeneralization result schizophrenia depression groups consistent previous results, supporting EAMT's validity. However, inconsistent not found disorder group. Further, count involuntary memories patient (vs. control group) significantly smaller, which can guide future researchers investigating psychopathology
