In this study, a novel hydrodynamic cavitation unit combined with glow plasma discharge system (HC-GPD) was proposed for the degradation of pharmaceutical compounds in drinking water. Metronidazole (MNZ), commonly used broad-spectrum antibiotic, selected to demonstrate potential system. Cavitation bubbles generated by (HC) can provide pathway charge conduction during (GPD). The synergistic effect between HC and GPD promotes production hydroxyl radicals, emission UV light, shock waves MNZ degradation. Sonochemical dosimetry provided information on enhanced formation radicals compared alone. Recently, the use of semiconductor-based photocatalytic technology as an effective way to mitigate environmental crisis attracted considerable interest. Here, S-scheme BiOBr/CdS heterojunction with abundant oxygen vacancies (Vo-BiOBr/CdS) was prepared by solvothermal method using ethylene glycol a solvent. The activity investigated degrading rhodamine B (RhB) and methylene blue (MB) under 5 W light-emitting diode (LED) light. Notably, degradation rate RhB MB reached 97% 93% in 60 min, respectively, which were better than that BiOBr, CdS, BiOBr/CdS.
